Teach, Make, and Learn – A Paper Crane Lab Adventure
Paper Crane Lab is a nonprofit organisation based in Bangalore, India focussing on education. We work towards increasing access to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) education for all ages by combining STEM concepts with art and creative projects.
Our vision is to make STEM education accessible, affordable, and hands-on!
We work on a variety of activities here at PCL. Primarily, we teach, we learn, and we make!
We run STEM classes in schools, libraries, and other organisations. We also run teacher trainings so that the teachers are equipped to teach their students STEM in a fun and engaging manner.
Using our knowledge of STEM, we create kits and classes that we donate to schools and sell too. Interested in making? Come join us and make from our space with a #PCLPass (more below)
We work with multiple schools, organisations, and individuals to spread our love for STEM education. Here is some of our work so far. If you would be interested in collaborating with us, please do reach out to us!
- Nalanda, Bihar – Training teachers at ATL (Atal Tinkering Labs) on the PCL science curriculum and a pre vocational electronic program. This would enable to teachers to run a program for 3 months across 10 government schools in Nalanda. We are currently working with the District Education Officer and Deputy Development Commissioner.
- VSR School, Chittor– Teacher training to commence on the PCL curriculum which is in sync with their science curriculum.
- Akanksha Foundation, Pune – PCL facilitators have hosted 11 online classes for the students from 6th and 8th Std. The program consisted of activity based learning through PCL kits that were in sync with what the students learnt in their science classes
